Inspirational architecture and landscape architecture from throughout the Twin Cities.

Somewhere between the unobtainably beautiful pages of Dwell Magazine and the unbelievably ugly tract housing vomited onto the land by developers; just around the corner from the quaint but increasingly inadequate pattern houses that make up most neighborhoods lie a few humble gems. Homes that appear to be comfortably of the space they inhabit even though they are unusual. Similarly there is a magical place between the chemically overdosed monoculture aspired to as the pinnacle of the low maintenance living (aka lawn) and the chaotic jungle of disharmony that results from a landscape that is unplanned and unmaintained. Professionally (or at least thoughtfully) designed space makes for a better home for the occupants for nature and for the imagination of passers by.

Here we will curate a growing collection of inspirational examples of structures and landscapes from the Twin Cities area. We hesitate to define our goal in terms like “modern” or “contemporary” though we certainly lean that way in our aesthetic. Instead we endeavor to simply share the things we fall in love with and hope you will find amongst our collection not just the inspiration inherent in exceptional design but the motivation to change your own space. In so doing you will live a more fulfilling life – one that will inspire others.
